Barbara Root is a dedicated spiritual medium, healer, and mentor with years of experience in mediumship, energy healing, and spiritual education. A lifelong student of spirit, Barbara has studied with some of the most respected teachers in the field and now serves others through mentorship, healing, and intuitive guidance.

She is a valued member of Fellowships of the Spirit, where she also serves as Mentor Coordinator, guiding both first- and second-year students in their intensive spiritual studies. In addition to her work with SIT (Spiritual Insight Training), Barbara is a member of the City of Light Spiritualist Church, a member of the Environmental Committee, and serves in her community through the Lily Dale Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary.

Barbara’s training includes extensive coursework in mediumship, beginning with one-year programs under John Michael Thornton and Carol Wise, and continuing with a three-year mentorship with Carol Borkowski in mediumship, Access Consciousness, and participation in psychic fairs. She became a certified Reiki Master under the guidance of Joe Thornton.

Her formal spiritual education was completed at Fellowships of the Spirit, where she earned certification through the Spiritual Insight Training program and the two-year advanced mediumship course. She has also studied under respected instructors, including Bill Coller, Greg Kehn, Sharon Klingler, Angie Abt, and Tom Cratsley—the latter with whom she completed the Healing Mastery program at Lily Dale.

Barbara has further enriched her skills with classes in Qi Gong, Chinese medicine, meridian work, crystal healing, tarot, platform mediumship, and Ho‘oponopono philosophy. She continues her development through courses at Lily Dale and international platforms, such as Arthur Findlay College, where she studied color in healing and mediumship.
